How many people here have lost a loved one because of gun violence? Only mothers, fathers, siblings.
Roland George, Father, November 1959.
My favorite uncle thought his wife was cheating on him with the AA instructor and so he confronted him and cut him open, but he lived. My uncle got out of prison and called his wife to meet him to sign divorce papers. She wanted to meet in public and so they met in a shopping mall parking lot. He shot his wife nine times and then shot himself in the heart when I was seven or eight. They are the only ones I have lost to gun violence though. I have lost more loved ones to drugs than anything else.
If you said school violence I would have my hand raised, though he wasn't a blood relative. My first love was murdered by one of his students at a Tyler, Texas high school by being stabbed in the carotid.
Violence is violence no matter what the cause. For me, I have more of a connection to what few friends that I have than I ever had with family members.
Why to you only mothers, fathers, siblings are loved ones?
