What kind of relationship do you want with your spouse or S/O?
I want two- one when we're young and one when we get old.
I want the young one to be honest like my aunt and uncle's relationship is brutally honest. She asked him how she looked for an interview, he took two seconds to look at her and said "you look like a dike" and she just laughed it off.
The older one I want to be really sweet like I used to work for a nursing home and a couple shared a room, you could do that if they're married. He'd wheel her to the dining room and he'd say "let's go, honey!" And she'd respond "okay, my love!" With the most adoring expressions on their faces.
I want to always feel drawn to ..her. Relaxed with each other, in agreement on the big things, and willing to figure out the small ones. View ‘us’ as a team. Trust, of course & always.. Maintain both shared, and individual interests. Politically in tune, though neither driven by politics. Financially conservative, but capable of worthwhile expenditures. In agreement on child rearing, though likely beyond that, kids have kids ..and some never grow up…
Shared curiosities, forever. Good health, both having taken care of ourselves thus having some carefree years before serious aging. Mutual respect and a willingness to consider unfamiliar alternatives.
Doesn't feel like I’m not doing jackshit to make any of this happen ..short of refining my life and adjusting to a new local. Though no Scout, I do feel better being prepared
That last couple. That makes me feel quite sad.
Yeah...I loved those two. I rage quit that job three years ago and now work for a job I hate but pays the bills
