I'm moving this August to the East Coast of Florida & wondering if there are any Progressive areas on the coast? This area around the Villages is just too narrow in it's thinking.

I lived in the Fl Keys for the past 17 years & that never bothered me there. I'm an aggressive Progressive & do not fit in well here. That is also why I rent so that I have the freedom of movement. Thanks.
If you're moving for a job - you may not have as much leeway, but if not, I suggest you snoop around the north central area - like Gainesville. For a few reasons - more progressive thinking, gorgeous huge trees, hills (!), and some distance from the brunt of many hurricanes which, thanks to our warming planet, are becoming both more frequent and more intense. Just an idea ...
And yeah - the Villages, though there are some fun things to partake of, is a repub stronghold for lovers of the orange one. Bleh.

Thanks, Evergreen but going further North does not work for me. I have a skill set that will alway keep me busy & never plan to stop working. For me that would be stopping everything. I Graduated from eCornell this past March just in WFPB Lifestyle just 50 years after graduating from OSU in Food Sciences. Now I'm teaching that to others because this Planet will not sustain the animal agriculture industries; plus, I have learned that the casein protein is the most carcinogenic thing in our food supply.

Hello, I used to live on the Space Coast. While there are a lot of people that are very right wing and part of the military industrial complex, there are a lot of progressive people living there.
A thriving Vegan, intelligent community, rather unique for Florida.

Hi Bob4Health, I just finished my studies in WFPB Lifestyle with eCornell in March. I will be looking to help those Plant Based Businesses. Any ideas about a good area to locate? I will only rent because I want to be able to move when I can again.
