Expanding your mind begins with being open to things you don't understand.
Far out.
So what are you even talking about ?
That, I'll agree with.
Some other things...not so much.
A simple statement with complex implications. It is an affront to our evolutionary trait to “belong”. By opening your mind to something new can be a very scary thing. It can result in separation from “the tribe”. It takes emotional courage to willingly expand your mind and admit that you don’t understand. Ignorance is not a “sin” but being a willing “disciple” of it to perpetuate it is. My respect and applause to those with that courage
I'm afraid I can't agree with that, expanding your mind begins with admitting there are things you don't know and wanting to know them.
I will say I don't understand, how something happens or works, or why something happens or works but that is not the same as saying I don't understand something, because being aware is the beginning of understanding the how, what, when, where, why and sometimes who behind it.
Unlocking cognitive bias is a challenge but worth it.
I appreciate the words you have used here...cognitive bias. I certainly have this. It is difficult to break free.
Isn't that how religion started?
@nutrition_nerd That's okay my mind expanded enough already, you go ahead. I am okay with what I got.
@NotConvinced Okay.
