WE, the homosapien have mated with other species also. AS I understand it there were five species all descended from the hominids. We have a great mixture of DNA and see this within our own species. Some people have more cones in their eyes, some can hear much better than others. So on and on we go only to discover we are a mixture, not the ideal of god.
