Cannibalism ala Soylent Green.

Food security is becoming another issue we have to contend with. In Oz our politicians are selling anything that is or isn't nailed down. Recently our farms. Fish stocks are becoming depleted, fish farming like agriculture causes immense pollution. However there is one food source that is not threatened with extinction and needs its population curbed. So eating this species would help the environment.
There are health risks with all food sources, but if these were overcome, would you eat human meat? I mean, without any religious issues to worry about, if it was legal and safe what would be your objection? The issue of prions mentioned in the following video may solve itself, the Fora people developed resistance to Kuru.

I probably would, but only if I'd been brought up to do so from a young age. I certainly wouldn't start now! (Heck, I'm not even game to try kangaroo!)

It is better than you would think, I avoid the mince, sausages etc, too strong, but pre prepared roasts and steak from supermarket in mint and garlic are fine.

NO I would eat Spirulina all the time to avoid eating human.

Chewing the fat would take on a whole new meaning.

If you were to feed the prison population to itself, you would cut costs and penal overcrowding at a stroke.
Effectively killing two jailbirds with one stove.

easy as a mostly vegetarian for me to forego that offer, & partially for the same reason i wouldn't eat conventionally farmed beef, pork or lamb either: an overload of toxins. yuck!

just back from a beach walk with my son, we talked about it, hmmmmm, all the crap in the human body, I'll pass also.

@Rugglesby, even munching on a newborn these days is hazardous, with all the vaccination orders.

I love to eat but I think I would pass on that

Same, but I can't work out why. Is it a residual cultural brain block?
Many other cultures have done this in the past, so would we outgrow it if the health issues weer solved? Or should we be made into fish food? pet food? What an amazing resource for a potential entrepreneur.

@Rugglesby I am ok with not knowing why I think it is icky. I am not a vegetarian but I do think about the animals I am consuming

Roasted Leg of Vegan has a nice ring to it.

get off my thigh!

actually, vegans would be the safest to eat.

@Rugglesby right, if we have to eat human might as well go with the best quality available

@walklightly I am sorry, did you still need that?
