No matter what you do to acknowledge the holiday, I hope everyone has a good Memorial Day weekend. This time of year I think about a good friend of mine who got killed in the Iraq War back in 2007. RIP Sgt Ashly Moyer 1985-2007.

It does, and what really goes through me is the way she got killed (a roadside bomb). I recall talking to her father via telephone about ten months before she got killed, and he told me even back then that she didn't like how things were turning out and wanted to get out as soon as possible.
@SpikeTalon. It was getting worse...
I sat at the local memorial today.
Sparked a bowl for some friends.
They'd have been a bit older than me.
