Another question that has always confounded me about the Christian faith. Christians use the representation of a cross as one of their icons to stand for the crucifiction of Christ. The problem for me has always been the stylized version of the cross that they have chosen as their symbol. Archaeologically and historically, the style of the cross used in a crucifiction of the time was not shaped like a lower case "t". Instead, the style of cross utilized at the time looked more like a capital "T". Why is this important you ask. By itself it is probably not important. Afterall, a cross is a cross you say. Unfortunately I cannot agree with this dismissal of evidence. It is just one more contradiction found within the Christian paradigm.

I always found it ironic that a religion that purports to be all about love should elect as its universal symbol an instrument of torture. almost as if it was implying 'believe or else!'

Christians dismiss evidence all the time. Why is this different?
