A minister in my area lives in a 4 million dollar house while his church members live mostly in poverty. He just got shook down by the feds for his knowledge of a crooked DA the Feds have convicted and are taking forever to put in jail. Does any of these christians read their handbook that bible thingy? Meanwhile, you and I have to explain to the government every dime we make and spend and he doesn't have to worry about even opening his financial books. Why doesn't anyone challenge the Non-profit status of religions to the Supreme Court. MY Constitution doesn't say anything about giving religions full sway on income and not having to report it. All I see is a money laundering operation. The Constitution's 1st Amendment grants Freedom of Religion, Press, etc so, why isn't the press exempt from taxes?

In Reynolds v. United States (1878) the Supreme Court used these words to declare that "it may be accepted almost as an authoritative declaration of the scope and effect of the amendment thus secured. Congress was deprived of all legislative power over mere [religious] opinion, but was left free to reach [only those religious] actions which were in violation of social duties or subversive of good order." Quoting from Jefferson's Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom the court stated further in Reynolds:

In the preamble of this act [. . .] religious freedom is defined; and after a recital 'that to suffer the civil magistrate to intrude his powers into the field of opinion, and to restrain the profession or propagation of principles on supposition of their ill tendency, is a dangerous fallacy which at once destroys all religious liberty', it is declared 'that it is time enough for the rightful purposes of civil government for its officers to interfere [only] when [religious] principles break out into overt acts against peace and good order.' In these two sentences is found the true distinction between what properly belongs to the church and what to the State.

What do they mean by "Violation of Social Duties":

  1. Teaching members to refuse medical treatment. (Abuse)
  2. Not carrying the burden of taxes like everyone else.
  3. Speaking ill of non-believers buy telling members non-believers are doomed. (Civil Rights Violations)
  4. Having schools that limit and indoctrinate a childs mind. (Abuse)

We got to do better, they are either U. S. Citizens or not. Modern christianity causes insurrection and must be tamed for good.

I have often wondered why churches aren't taxed ans allowed the same deductions as the rest of us. To me it seems to be an infringement of my first amendment rights.

They most likely do not object to his ship and plane either. It is amazing how stupid people can be.
