Assuming Trump can pardon himself, and assuming the GOP can shield him as long as they hold the senate, should he admit everything so he can pardon himself? Or would his ego make him continue to deny everything until he is out of office, and unable to pardon himself?

Or will he get congress to give him a blanket exemption?

He never has admitted wrong doing in his life and never will. Trump is not a man by any measure. He is a manchild. As a country we got just what we deserve. Americans had better wake up!

His ego prevents him from taking responsibility for anything. He's the eternal victim.

That said, logic has never been an interest of his so he might still try to pardon himself, while not admitting guilt.

Personally my guess is that he's floating some outrageous stuff like pardoning himself without any real intention of doing so. The purpose is to desensitize us to this stuff so when he does something unprecedented and immoral, but a lesser level of ridiculous, it won't seem so bad by comparison. Also he's testing the limits of what the GOP legislators will put up with. He can gauge by their [non]responses how much he can likely get away with.
