I come out of a Pentacostal background, not Mormon, but this involuntary baptism nonsense is something I could imagine certain Pentecostals salivating just a little at this Mormon idea of "saving" lost souls despite those people's lack of consent. Who needs to worry about ethics when you are Doing "the Lord's work?"

Yes, obviously the baptism is devoid of any supernatural power. It's main effect is to be utterly offensive to the surviving family and friends of the deceased who don't agree with the church's claim to that person who never consented to be baptized. Pretty obnoxious.
