The people in Michigan should lobby their elected representatives to get that changed. In the 21st century I find that incredible.

If it is not a fundamental right, it certainly is a moral one, but then probably the judge doesn't care about morals and while he goes to church on Sundays.

The judge only rules on what the statute says, he interprets the law, it would take legislation to change it.

@Marionville Yes, however another judge would probably interpret it completely different. So it is all in the interpretation. Just like a judge or judges has interpreted that a company is a person, which it is not.
