On national radio in Missouri FM 92.9, Dave Weinbaum gave a speech about how air traffic controllers have now been replaced with unqualified people and just how dangerous this is to people that fly if we have uncertified air traffic controllers. When he finished he said
"Thank you, Obama."
To my knowledge this practice started with Reagan and has been promoted by the GOP ever since. Look for many other jobs to be taken over by uncertified people in the future. Vote blue.

Yes. Durign the Reagan administration the GOP has actively attacked organized labor and disbanded the union that reprented air trafi controllers and fired all the qualified people. Since tht time, there really have been no real mandatory hiring qualifications for air traffic controllers.
