My takeaway from this? #1, I am horrified. #2, I am ashamed of certain other white people right now. #3, I don't see how anybody can buy into this ideology. And #4, yet another reason Trump sucks.

Small towns like Ulysses, PA, have always been conservative. For generations the citizens of small town America have been able to have things their way, and that has usually included a racist atmosphere.

Absolutely. All nationalism, as opposed to simple patriotism, is based on fear of the Other.
