That holy inquisition crap started in the twelfth century and went to the middle of the nineteenth century. People needed to be fearful. Imagine being tortured horribly and then being burned alive. Only the Dominicans could have carried that out. And all this after “thou shalt not kill” hit the books. This Catholic Church has a very dark history.
