I believe it's both. Having struggle d with depression most of my life, I know it's been my go-to mechanism since childhood that runs in my family, so I'm pre-diposed to it. But external events have also brought it out... With some people it may be more one than the other. Situational depression, if gone unaddressed, can become chronic. The good news is both situational and genetic depression are treatable and manageable.

Yes.

Luckily, CBD oil, found in most health food stores, can treat both problems.

Taking an early morning walk resets your thyroid for more energy and better mood, but for more help, .taking CBD oil relieves anxiety and sadness.

Link: A 2015 study concluded that CBD oil treats numerous forms of anxiety, including social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Cannabidiol not only made participants feel better but also changed the way their brains responded to anxiety.

"One week of treatment with a non-psychoactive marijuana compound, CBD oil, could help drug addicts and alcoholics from relapsing for months, a new study found.

Researchers gave cannabidiol (CBD oil) to rats that consumed either alcohol or cocaine every day. The animals received a daily treatment of the CBD in gel form for a single week, according to the study published in the journal Neuropsychopharmacology.

The CBD helped the critters consume less alcohol or cocaine, even when they were put into anxiety-inducing situations that might push them to take more. And the rats that had the gel applied to their skin were also less anxious and less impulsive, the study says."

Genetic, then enhanced by situations.. Excellent question, and one I ponder as well. Seems we inherit a predisposition, with likely some ‘learned behavior’ in there too. Awareness seems the answer, though.
