Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.No big surprises. Reagan/Bush ran up huge deficits, Clinton e4limated deficits, The second Bush ran up huge deficits, Obama reduced deficits by two thrids, Now Trump is running them up again.
Republicans may say they are more fiscally responsible and acuse Democrats of "tax and spend" policies. However at least democrats try to balance the books by matching revenues with their spending, while republicans just increase spending and run up the national debt.

Of course following Trump's billion dollar gift to the 1 percent. And the tariffs. And the ballooning deficit with China, especially after the tariffs.

Don't leave out the Republican majority in Congress. Trump didn't do it on his own.

@bingst They may well be aiming to do that but I still think they changed position a lot and are trying to buy themselves the next election. When the next recession or even worse depression hits not even these cuts will not be enough. There is no sincere plan to stabilize the US governments deficit and debt situation. Sorry for each child born with a $65,000 debt load.
