If the “ Christians “ would add nine months to their birthday ?

Why is it generally speaking of one’s age we use the date we are born , not conception, for our real age ? The answer you already know

I seem to remember their holy book saying one's life began at birth, not conception.

it is an interesting thought. i don't know how anyone would be able to know the exact day of conception.....we could always ask god...

Because when you are born you become an independent life, no longer dependent on the mothers body for life.

Good point

You're right, they should if they believe that they were "babies" from the moment of conception. Of course most of them don't really believe that though--it's all about controlling women & their bodies & punishing them from being sexual. Seems like the totally lose interest in the welfare of those "babies" the second they're born.
