QUESTION How women’s reproductive rights stalled under Trump - Vox

Another reason for separation of church and state - the religious right will jeopardize women's lives and health. Under the Evangelical Republicans women's bodies are not our own. Our health and lives are mere tools for them to use to practice their religion.

I recently did a post on the assault on women's reproductive rights, and plan to do another soon. The video I posted was from Vice News that went a few years back, and in it the reporters went undercover to expose fake clinics (crisis pregnancy centers). It was really good, an eye opener.

Stalled? Not stalled, regressing. Sure, Trump's America has been the worst offender thus far, but they've been whittled away at since at least Reagan.

It has taken a huge amount of energy to maintain my composure while reading this ridiculous discussion whereby men call the article in a post "nice clickbait" and defend their beliefs while siting other ridiculous articles regarding women's reproductive rights. When did men become experts on the all mighty vagina. I can see how they can become experts on Viagra and other impotency drugs, but birth control, abortion, come on! Post your comments when you have grown a vagina and allow women to discuss reproductive rights. They are the experts in the vagina domain.
On another note, the focus of the article is how women’s reproductive rights are stalled under the anarchist in the WH. It is a fact that women have been fighting a battle for reproductive rights since the 1800s.

It was in the 1960’s when things started to change. Case in point, in a landmark decision, GRISWOLD V. CONNECTICUT (1965), the Supreme Court ruled such laws were unconstitutional. Setting a precedent, the Court determined that a fundamental right to privacy exists between the lines of the Constitution. Laws prohibiting contraceptive choice violated this sacred right.

In another case, the ban of prohibitive laws was extended to unmarried couples in EISENSTADT V. BAIRD (1972). A federal judge imparted the right to purchase contraceptives to unmarried minors in 1974.

It is a fact that religious Republicans are fighting to turn back the clock on women’s reproductive freedom.
Knowledge is power for women. We will fight! We will never go back!

Thank you that was very well said. Only a man would argue that that our rights are completely protected and we shouldn't worry our pretty little heads off about paying out of our pocket for birth control. In other words we shouldn't be upset that insurance companies will not cover essential elements of our health and well-being

@Kojaksmom, I've seen women make those arguments as well. Granted, there are far fewer women making those arguments, but they are out there, and it baffles me.

Can we throw stones at political or other voluntary things instead of what biology we have?

I get that you are mad about these things, but you do have supporters who don't have a vagina.

I happen to agree with you about what is happening to women's rights, and I have a penis and have had problems in the past with ED.

Neither of those things require a particular biology to understand.

Frankly, your employer should have ZERO control over what your insurance covers, EVER.

I don't even think they have any business selecting the insurers either, they should simply write a check for your benefit amount to whomever you have chosen. Anything else is discriminatory.

@TheMiddleWay I feel that you need to step back from your Catholic upbringing and do more analysis of current events, you are (from your profile) obviously a smart person, but I think you are off on this analysis.

Can you think of a more ridiculous pairing than Donald Trump and the moral majority?

3

Stalled? I'd say that reproductive rights have been reversed!

I agree with you 100% . I think we need to let the public vote on more things especially when it affects them personally. separation of church and state is a good thing. Personally I think there is too much religion in government right now.

This makes me so incredibly angry. I have to work really hard to maintain my
composure whenever the subject comes up. I will defy any attempt to limit my
personal autonomy. I will fight to my last breath for every female to maintain
dominion over her own body. This is non-negotiable, and not open to debate.

Geeze... that sucks... religion is a business that produces large amount of money for donations...
We're in trouble. There's no one out there to help us. Or help the females...
