How do you stop the relentless replaying of a song in your head?

My mental illness dictates that often a melody, riff or lyric will get stuck in my head for days. Waking up only to being again trying to block it. Thusly I dislike music. I use the Beatles often. Norwegian Wood is a good one. J.S. Bach. But inevitably the repetition sneaks in. Medication anyone?

I have tinnitus, it drowns out everything, However... in your case:

don't fight it, control it. Have a player and headphones on all the time... on shuffle

I prefer meditation, specifically breath counting, over medication.

we always call those things earworms. i was advised a short while back by @Jnei that Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" was a sure fix. it worked. I've been listening to it bounce around in my head ever since.

Brutal!
