Sherlock Homes fan?

What is your favourite Sherlock to watch. I love all of them, Including similar shows such as HOUSE MD, and Jonathon Creek. If anyone knows of a similar show (doesn't neccesarily have to be directly related to Sherlock) please let me know as I love the whole mystery side of things, and how its all worked out. Thanks

Love Basil Rathbone and Peter Cushing ( the most intense stare of all of them) as well.

Jeremy Brett closely followed by Basil Rathbone

All the old half-hour series, Nigel Rathbone, the BBC w/Jeremy Brett, the new 21st century stuff.
Everything. Had the original collections at about 8 yo, bought the complete for 10th birthday.
Just finished "Dust and Shadow" by Lyndsay Fayetteville (excellent) an hour ago (serendipity!).
The G.S. Dennings books are mind-benders: Sherlock is part demon, Mrs. Hudson is a porn addict, and so on, but a well-written homage of the canon.

Really enjoyed the Cumerbatch Sherlock because they have adapted the stories in clever ways that still have the spirit of the original. Other than that the Basil Rathbone versions are classics but the best full series was the Jeremy Brett versions on ITV ... they were consistently well produced and brilliantly acted.

Murdock Mysteries, for some reason, fascinates me. Also Monk, and there was a short-lived series with a south Florida private eye, his side-kick, and a run-away teen Gypsy girl. Eric Roberts was the Gypsy King.

All of them have parts I like! The first series of Sherlock was excellent but couldn't hold on. I enjoy Joan Watson in Elementary more than their Sherlock character. The movies with Robert Downey Jr. are a wild ride and I enjoy the banter between Watson and Sherlock.

All of them, for various reasons. I enjoy all the different takes on the character & find them all valid in their own ways. Basil Rathbone was the classic, Downey Jr. did a credible job. Cumberbatch was just excellent! Many Dr. Who were in the same vein. Try, on TV, or on NetFlix, "The Blacklist" w/ James Spader. & of course, there's also "Bladerunner"! or "Criminal Minds", "Mindhunter" or "The Usual Suspects" - a great film. Or classics such as "The Maltese Falcon", "The Thin Man", "Double Indemnity", "Rear Window", "North by Northwest", "The Postman Always Rings Twice" (1946 version), many, many out there!

& tho I steered you away from the Nicholson version of "The Postman...", do catch "Chinatown"!

Thanks. I will definately give it a watch

I love the Murdoch Mysteries online on AcornTV. It’s a beloved Canadian show in its 11th season. It’s light, not a heavy deep show, humorous at times. It takes place in turn of the century Toronto, and usually features some newly discovered technology. And there’s the brilliant detective and his love interest the female medical examiner. Good clean fun kind of show.

Gonna check this out!

@JohnnyThorazine at first, the “too perfect” production quality put me off. It’s not “raw” or “gritty.” It definitely looks like a television show. You know you’re watching actors on sets, but I just adore the characters. Give it a shot and you’ll be hooked!

11th season? Wow. I watched it on HULU and it only went through season 6. Looks like I'll be busy tonight!

@Dick_Martin AcornTV is cheap and it has a lot of great shows! It's mostly British stuff, but there are some Australian shows too. Murdoch Mysteries might be the only Canadian one. I also recommend Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries - set in post WWI Australia.

seems to have good reviews. I shall give it go for sure

@carlyhorton Watching Murdoch Mysteries right now. This is the reason I posted this question, to find something like this. Thanks again

@RobH86 I think each season gets better. They got rid of some of the swishy camera moves, and the lighting gets a little more sophisticated. I can watch it over and over 🙂

Cummerbatch and Downey. Agreed with House and Creek. Now thinking if there are others?

If you think of any let me know. Love stuff like this

Basil Rathbone....the BBC is just too convoluted..I lose interest....but the people in it are amazing. And Robert Downey Jr. is a great 'Indiana Jones meets Sherlock Holmes' adventure show.
