It was the 1st cocktail ever mentioned in a newspaper(1810) along side the 1st use of the word Cocktail..thoughts people..

I quit drinking years ago , & I never tried one . However , I am still open for manual gratuity & favors 😀

Sugar, bitters, rye or bourbon, a 1/2 slice of orange and ice cubes ..yummmm

@phil21 I picked up on the 007 vibe..I use rye myself..

@Charlene I've used both. Not at the same time.And ... had an Old Fashioned with Rye last night. A little too orangey, but good.

Was my number one go to drink back in my drinking days. I preferred mine muddled. Had to give them up, though.
