One cannot look at human history and see the work of a divine orchestrator. Moral positions which we enjoy and which are not uniformly spread around the world, are the result of intersubjective dialogical process and not deities. Had deities been involved, atrocity would be abolished instantaneously not gradually. Where there is peace and cooperation, people have acquired an ability to institute a moral realm rooted in and kept evolving within an intersubjective structure which designates the norms of living together. This is why, even today, we must look carefully at our own society and at our own actions to see if this intersubjective realm is not excluding some from the peace, the security and the warmth of healthy human relations. This is true political engagement and genuine social critique. Nothing was given to us from above... and therefore there is never a time when arrangements are good for everyone... we must be unrelenting in our pursuit of inclusion to alleviate harm and suffering....
