LINK Theresa May Has Made A Final Desperate Plea Ahead Of Tuesday's Big Brexit Vote | HuffPost UK

“You, the British people, voted to leave."

Theresa May has warned of a “catastrophic and unforgivable breach of trust” in democracy if MPs reject her Brexit deal and the UK remains in the European Union.

With just two days to go before the Commons vote on her withdrawal agreement, the prime minister pleaded with parliamentarians to “do what is right for our country” and back her controversial exit plan.

May said the UK risks crashing out of the EU without a deal or, if MPs are “unwilling” to face the uncertainty of no deal, then the UK may not leave at all."

Looks like we do have parliamentary sovereignty after all. I'd love to see article 50 withdrawn. Clearly now that the leave vote is split between deal and no deal, neither of which live up to the promises of the referendum campaign, the 48% who voted to stay surely represent the plurality even if the vote hadn't shifted enough to give them the majority. I'd rather not see a people's vote. The first was divisive enough. Wouldn't it be great to see parliament grow the stones to throw this nonsense out as we know has to be done and then move on to the reconciliation of our fractured nation.
