Totally agree. There is a sculpture trail near where I live with work by the late Frank Bruce, Many of the sculptures are carved from tree trunks and sadly are beginning to decay. One I really like is entitled "the patriot" and it depicts one man attacking another and is labelled " For every winner there is a loser" Says it all really.
