Please share covers of your favorite songs. I think my favorite is Johnny Cash doing "Hurt" by Nine Inch Nails.

@Uncorrugated, I found this gem of the two guys with cellos. πŸ™‚ It's "Welcome to the Jungle!"

Nothing can top Stevie Wonder but this comes close.

Just heard this recently. I thought it was awesome.

It is awesome!

In my previous posting I mentioned Dan Hardin and his covers of songs made famous by famous artists. So many great covers done by him. This one is one of his best, though "Dirty Old Town" is pretty awesome, too.

Nice!

Don't know why this guy isn't famous.

I was not familiar with this Talking Heads song. I listened to the cover first, and I think I like it better. πŸ™‚

I didn't realize this was a song from The Who until I saw Pete Townshend in the audience. Great cover!

Best Cover off the top of my head is Chris Isaic’s cover of Elvis’ β€œCan’t Help Falling In Love With You”. Some might think β€œsacrilege”, but I think it’s as good or....

<=== me.

This was great! And a good song choice! πŸ™‚

I really love to listen to cover songs on Youtube. So many great mostly unknown artists and bands - Dan Hardin, and Foxes & Fossils, to name two. This link is a cover of a Fleetwood Mac song.

I like this cover a lot (I also liked the one the Dixie Chicks did!--I almost forgot about that one).

And then there is this gem:

Jesus wept, that's awful. He's worse than Richard Cheese! LOL πŸ™‚

Well, I adore JoCo, but I realize it's not everyone's taste.

That is hilarious. Thanks so much for that.

Do instrumental covers count?

YES! This is brilliant! I haven't seen anything this amazing in a long time. WOW! Thanks for sharing. I hope everyone who reads this thread checks this out!

Check out their other stuff - in concert they play everything from classics right through to AC/DC, Michael Jackson and everything in between. Awesome stuff.

@Uncorrugated RAD! incl. the cellos πŸ™‚

@Uncorrugated I can't thank you enough for turning me on to these guys! They're simply amazing! I'm hooked (I used to play violin and I love strings).

I’m torn on Orgasmatron. No clue which one I like more... and that’s fine lol

That IS OK, because you can like both of them for me! πŸ˜‰

Hahahahaha that’s the beauty of the stuff I’m into πŸ˜€ @orange_girl

Dead Cross does amazing better than original Bauhaus cover

I was not familiar with the original, so I listened to that one after listening to this one. I like the original better. πŸ™‚

Lol we’re backwards hahahahaha @orange_girl

I enjoy his cover of 13

I was not familiar with either one of these. I think I like the Cash cover better. How about you?

Danzig is my dude, always has been. Cash is great, too, though. @orange_girl

Also, in my opinion only Elliott Smith could sing a Big Star song as well as Big Star:

I love so many covers. This is one:

OMG, I'm losing my mind!!!! Wow. Just wow.

Fiona Apple Across The Universe

Bauhaus Ziggy Stardust

The Bauhaus cover is spectacular! I've heard the Apple cover before, but it's so good, I'm listening to it again. (Earlier today I watched a documentary on The Beatles πŸ™‚).

Okay, I"m obsessed with the Apple cover now.

@orange_girl These were the first two I thought of that, like Cash's version of Hurt, are better than the originals. Another example would be Soft Cell's Tainted Love, but I forgot to add that one πŸ™‚

@Jnei Yes, I love that one by Soft Cell!

Great post. I love this. Not only is it better than the original, it's the birth of First Aid Kit.

Wow. They're voices are amazing. I'm not familiar with the original, so now I'm going to check that out.

As timely now as it was then...and again now speaking to a generation who might just listen!

This is an interesting take on "Land of Confusion." I like it, but my cat, however, does not. LOL

I love this. So powerful. Like the recent cover of Sounds of Silence
