Astronomers deal on a daily basis with distances like light-years, which are so great they are hard to imagine. Do astronomers therefore tend to feel "smaller" than other people do? (If so, in what sense? If not, why?)

They don't feel smaller than other people. they more understand how small we all are.

I would think that astronomers feel connected to the universe, as do I, and therefore much greater than the sum of their own parts.

Not sure about astronomers, but I think there are a lot of people that feel bigger than they should! 😀
