Heroes that were ahead of the times-seen any Recently?

People that were proven to be ahead of the social/
cultural trends were plentiful in the 70's. Have

I met Jimmy Carter up in NH when he was running for president. He is a good man. He accomplished a lot after an especially difficult presidency.

There are many unsung hero's and they need to be identified instead of all the murderers every night on the news. I do not care about them keep them a secret and report the positive.
