I've read about this area of small villages with rustic cottages and paths between them, some of which can be walked or biked. it looks as if it might be a place that I might want to visit. Does anyone know about the area? Been there?
Absolutely beautiful area.
Pretty much what all the others said really. My only problem with the place is all the bloody tourists......
If you want an unspoilt village (with a cracking trout farm) you could do a lot worse than Bibury. [tourismontheedge.com]
I go in winter!
I followed the link. Gorgeous-looking village. Thank you.
The trout farm on the outskirts has a tea room and you can wander around the lakes and rearing pens and feed the fish or rent rods and pay for any catch by weight - it doesn't get much fresher than that!
I have been to The Cotswolds many times, but not since about 1977, I used to go caving there and a few other places near there. I was the secretary of a caving club for 7 years. That was a long time ago, so I can't help you with any vacationing advice. I can tell you that it is a beautiful part of the world.
You can google for ideas, as I just did.
