a few centuries--well, at least they weren't as alarmist as today's MM.

In 1912 there weren’t hundreds of coal-fired electrical plants, or a couple hundred million cars and trucks burning 100 million gallons of oil a day. The rate of CO2 emissions has risen dramstically since then.
