LINK Justice Dept. Declines to Defend Law Against Female Circumcision, Citing Flaws

Willam Barr's DOJ. They're almost forced not to defend it, because it infringes on "religious freedom"; any curtailment there would be an impediment to they're imposing Christian Sharia on the country.

And if your culture/religion prescribed cutting off the nose, would that then be okay? With anyone?

At least they got something right. It's not much, but something.

What? "The Justice Department told a lawmaker this week that it had stopped defending a federal prohibition on female genital mutilation... ." Meaning FGM is now essentially allowed.

What a disgrace.

Screw religious and cultural opinion the forced mutilation of genitalia simply must stop ? happening to anyone. When they grow up they can do anything they want to their private parts, but we call them private for a reason, perhaps it’s time to really embrace the full meaning of ”private”
Sure there’s medical exceptions but do I actually have to spell out that difference?

That is totally bizarre. What has interstate commerce to do with FGM. Actually it is more of a cultural practice than a religious one.
