Can we talk openly about serial monogamy? I've recently started thinking that it's like getting on a plane and hoping it never crashes. And if you are a serial monogamist, what's the difference between dating someone and being exclusive? Is there a difference? And if you're *not* a serial monogamist, how exactly does that work for you? (I'm still trying to figure out dating. I'm not sure I've ever done it right.)

It seems finding someone who can control themselves is a mythical unicorn. When I'm committed to someone in a relationship, I don't cheat. At least I haven't yet. I've never been married for 15 years though lol. Dating someone just means they are 1 person out of possibly many that you are dating. I generally don't like that, but it's usually how it is in the beginning. I like to focus my energy and my checkbook. Being exclusive to me is just being with that one person in a committed relationship.

Monogamy is unnatural but less stressful

Would you mind elaborating?

I’ve done the whole playing the field to see what’s out there. Just left me feeling empty. I found I’m happy dating one person to see where it goes. And now that I’m with the perfect woman I couldn’t imagine being with anyone else.

I don't even know what that means. I'm pretty faithful to my breakfast cereal but occasionally I do get like the store brand.
