Fine way to put-down poor people. Surely, sending a personal note, was not beyond the scope of communications...even the mail gets there sooner or later! Why has it become fashionable to discredit the less privileged in this world? Greed and the valuing of things over people will likely be our down fall!

Even if this was real, it's understandable. If you're donating money to a specific cause, then you want 100% of your donation to go towards that cause.
