Some days I think life would be easier if there was a god to grant wishes, heal the sick, punish evil people, and to forgive all our sins. We all know he isn't real and that this will never happen. Do you think it would be easier if there was a god?
No...If I found out that a god actually existed, I would be under constant stress over displeasing him, etc...
Oh, okay.
Nah he'd probably dislike me and avidly hinder everything I do
Lol.
The lure of magical thinking/god maybe sexy if you are having a hard time, but it's a crap shoot, promising a reward after you're dead, which one never aquires. I think life is more complicated with god/s, not less.
Yes.
If the god was one that was a father figure, that loved you and cared for you, protected you, saw to it that all your needs were taken care of, then I would think that life would be blissful and we would all exist in the "garden of Eden" happily ever after. IMHO
Probably.
That would cut down the population to those capable of living in harmony, quite a different existence. Count me in!
Depends on the God really
We have thousands of them.
I know that's why I said what I said. the question did say "a God"
@Sarahroo29 With millions of people each defining their own version of their "personal" god, I wonder if the number is larger then the thousands of different god figures we (imaginative / manipulate humans) have invented over the years.
@NoMagicCookie Idk?
Yes, if he was a benevalent, loving, wise, humble, and a God who kept us from killing each other, and forced all to tell the truth. No need for lawyers or politicians or an army. Well, I guess I am describing Heaven or some other utopia.
Oh, okay.
