LINK 'Most humiliating experience of my life:' Black North Carolina man who was handcuff and removed from his home after false burglar alarm - ABC News

The dude was in HIS OWN HOUSE, sleeping! So the police come in (an alarm was accidentally triggered by someone else), he comes down the stairs with HIS LEGALLY REGISTERED GUN coz it's night and these are folks breaking into his home, he thinks...they handcuff him and have him down on the floor. This is so wrong. Just flat out so wrong.

Being black in the South

This is sad for so many reasons and I feel terrible for this man.

In Canada, no cop responds to an alarm to find a home owner holding a gun, unless that person is a criminal.

I agree with you fully but he was black and in a home with a gun at night in North Carolina. The racist cops most likely would be OK with it from that standpoint and would not even check to see if someone else was there to trigger and alarm. The man is fortunate not to have been killed by them. No, it is not right, but maybe it was the best North Carolina could do at the time.

Cops everywhere need much more training.
