Weren't they Guyana and Jim Jones debacles that sort of cults. And LGBTQ conversion therapy is just crap, and should be outlawed.

Converting to a religion is nothing like Conversion Therapy. In both Conversion Therapy and ABA, they reward us when we act according to their ideas on how we should, and punish us severely when we behave in the ways that are natural to us.
So, assuming you're a straight woman, if you look at a picture of an attractive man a little too long, you get a face full of vinegar or an electric shock. Until you learn to stop looking.
@TaraMarshall There are some really sick people out there who dream crap like that up. But then there are a lot of really sick people out there and mostly they are conservative christian republicans
@HippieChick58, Lovaas didn't even think Autistic children were people. He was a sick, twisted man.
I like the meme, but Conversion Therapy should be illegal everywhere. It doesn't make people not be LGBTQ, it only traumatizes them and leads to Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, and suicidal behavior.
Just like the same techniques developed by Lovaas et al do to Autistic people when marketed to our parents as ABA. Behaviorism sucks.

Agree. Conversion therapy is really torture by another name.
