(CNN) — Archeologists in Peru have uncovered the remains of around 250 children sacrificed by the pre-Columbian Chimú civilization.
Fascinating, but so very sad.

I find it impossible to respect people's beliefs, as some suggest one should, when this is the abhorrent result of delusional thinking.
These children were not sacrificed quickly, they were tortured. I wonder whether this was an honour for these children and their parents. I can't imagine any child not being terrified prior to their sacrifice.

Why is it the first thing so many religions come up with to appease their gods is sacrifice. They start with chickens and goats, and start up the food chain. And if you are a women in some of those cultures you had better shuck that virginity as quick as you could. There is nothing on this planet goofier than human beings. Even clown fish are not as goofy, and their name is CLOWN!
