What a disgusting egotistical display!
I worked on Mackinac Island for a summer at the tiny airport in the middle of the island. Its the only way on and off the island once the Ice freezes. The only motor vehicles are a few emergency ones that are kept away unless needed and I never once saw.
Important people were usually transported around in elaborate horse drawn buggies. It would have been a great photo opportunity.
