LINK Nurses who kill: Medical murderers and the mystery of the Clarksburg VA hospital in West Virginia

The thought comes to mind, "Will there ever be a way for people who suffer in life, whether it be mentally or physically, to legally have the choice to end their suffering?" Stories like this one display the need for it. Insurance companies and hospitals make big money keeping the elderly alive for as long as possible and ignoring the wishes of the patient to have their suffering ended. Could "Mercy" clinics become a reality? What do you think?

the VA isnt insurance at all, so there is zero incentive to keep anyone alive, other than a moral belief that life is good, no matter what.

Heres an article from the UK about some of the countries that allow assisted suicide. The Netherlands also allows people to specify ahead of time, when they are ready to die, even if they can't make the decision themselves when the time comes. eg a person with alzheimers who wants to die when they get xyz sick enough, but won't be able to consent to assisted suicide when the actual time comes, can consent to euthenasia ahead of time

Interesting article. Thanks for that. There's still so far to go.
