LINK Mormon Church says it opposes conversion therapy, but is concerned about rule to limit it - Metro Weekly

This is an issue that's been especially concerning in my state for the past while. There is a bill moving through the state legislature in Utah that would ban conversion therapy that would essentially strip any counselor or therapist of their license for recommending conversion therapy to a patient, but the Mormon Church is using its influence to block the bill under the cry of "religious freedom". It seems to me that by "religious freedom" they mean "our freedom to continue forcing our beliefs on others regardless of how it hurts them." Anyone else really pissed off at their shenanigans?

Counselors or therapists that recommend conversion therapy should be stripped of their license - for advocating a treatment that has been shown not to work.

Speaking out of both sides of their mouths as usual! They should not be allowed any input to what must be a purely political and human rights issue.

Separation of church and state! The Morons should not impose their beliefs on government!
