It does seem to be a contest. Thus, the satire really fits. Brits vote for Brexit, then Americans elect Trump, So, now Brits give Johnson the mandate he needs to finish Brexit, but McConnel has vowed to guarantee Trump won't be removed from office once the House Impeaches him. The second impeachment indictment (Obstruction of congress) was exactly what McConnel said was a "high crime" 20 years earlier. If McConnel or Trump gets re-elected in 2020, the U.S. will once again pull ahead as the dumbest country.
