The NRA is trying to keep this whole issue a simple binary conversation based on fear but in truth that is an obsolete paradigm. The binary position they are standing behind is that assault rifles are needed for individual self defense and that an individual's need overrides any collective negative consequence. So simply put they are saying an individual's freedom overrides the security of the many. Invidual > community = NRA's binary legal interpretation of second ammendment. There are two crippling fallacies to this argument:

Fallacy 1) The assault rifle is an effective defense for the individual. The technology available to law enforcement and the military today renders any hand held gun obsolete. Currently a standard tactic for theater of war operations would dictate that stand off weaponry be used first against any suspected hardened target. In civilian terms that translates to the use of robotics like drones and ground attack robots will be sent in first against any hostile domicile that is suspected to have guns of any kind. The lethality of guided missles fired by a robot is far superior to hand held guns. Chalk this up as a total victory everytime for the entity operating the robots. So guns are a useless defense against an organized entity armed with stand off precision weoponry.👍 See the link just below.

Fallacy 2) The government needs to eradicate these guns to significantly reduce the negative consequences to the community. Current GPS technology can be fixed to every assault rifle that will enable an alert to law enforcement and the military any time a highly lethal gun gets near a school or concert or any area considered a high risk of mass fatality. This alert system will be cheap, portable, and easy to manage for any community event. So people can keep their assault rifles. 👍 But they need to register the gun, buy a micro gps tracker, and have it certifiably installed. This installation can be designed in a manner that will automatically send an alert if the device is removed from the gun. See the link below.

Am I understanding this correctly?

The Federal Election Committee asked the NRA if the funds they have admitted they receive from foreign countries aren't being funneled to the Political Victory Fund.

The NRA says no, they haven't. Even though they're not sure where some of the money is coming from.
So how would they know whose money is going to the PVF?

The NRA told the FEC point blank that they're doing all of this legally because they're exploiting a loophole in the law.

Makes my brains explode.
