A friend of mine, atheist as well, showed me some songs from this rock opera. There are some gems. It's an interesting retelling of the story. I like musicals, so don't mind it as much.

At least 45 years ago, when it was first out. The one song I remember well was "King Herod's Song." I won't give it away, because it's probably online, but it's played strictly for laughs AND sounds like a real genuine show tune. I thought it was a work of genius.
