Can we assume that the recent jump in mortality is due to Easter services two weeks ago?

What jump are you referring to?

@WilliamFleming @SergeTafCam Over the weekend, the press reported that the death toll was very high. These data only show a moderate spike, but the timing may still be right. The Trump administration and red state governors have worked to suppress the reporting of the numbers, so the chart represents an underestimate. It is absurd that these numbers can be censored...

@racocn8 It looks like a general tapering off to me, with some ups and downs. No, you can not logically assume that those variations have anything to do with Easter.

How do you know that Trump and Republican governors have worked to suppress the reporting of the numbers? What would be the motive? Sounds like an unfounded conspiracy theory to me.

Iā€™m appalled that so many people are using the epidemic as a vehicle for spreading fear and hatred. What is needed is unity and mutual support.
