I really want to know the collective's response to this.
Anyone can be prejudiced, by racism is an institutional system that privileges one group and discriminates against minorities in virtually all walks of life. So no, racism only goes one way.
Incorrect.

noun: racism
@Druvius The true definition is not semantics. Racism isn't JUST White's hate any colored person. Anyone who discriminates based on a person's skin color is racist. Period.
Not denying that. But, POC's do not get an automatic pass on their behavior because of what the majority has done to them.
ugh. No thanks.
What did I do wrong to get hit like that?
@Melbates Ugh. I'm sorry, Mel. My theory has always been "People can be assholes." White people, gay people, Mexican people, weather forecasters, teachers, bus drivers, that guy over there doing something in front of the building. But I try not to attach anything to it other than jerkiness. I know I am sometimes wrong, that people do feel a certain away toward "different" people.
Yes indeed it does. Prejudice is in all human societies as is ethnocentrism. We humans are afraid of the "other". Still I feel that we have made progress in America to overcome this fear and to be more accepting of differences. I was a child in the 50s and believe me on a personal level people are much more open minded.
I just feel like sometimes society gives POC's a pass on their behavior. Maybe out of guilt for the hell white man wrought. But, shit! What did I do wrong in that post????
