Every day that it's worn an hour or more. I usually only have to wear a mask going into/out of my post office daily. Otherwise mask free except for big errand days.

I have several masks, all clean and hanging in various places so I don't leave the house without one, but one is my favorite. I used to wash it every evening, and by morning it is dry. But, because I really only wear it for a few minutes here and there, l am getting slower to wash it, but definitely do wash it before/after my errands day, when I will wear it for an hour or more total. (Also, because sometimes I wear makeup on errands day and it comes off inside the mask.)

I'm lucky that I really don't go out in public much, so can live my solitary life pretty mask free, except for errands. (It's not customary in my community to wear a mask when outdoors walking, biking, swimming, or separated by distance from acquaintances. We wear them going into and out of a restaurant, but not at the table.

just a word from a nurse....its a good idea to hang them in the sunlight when possible.
