Civilization happens when people all agree to a set of rules, both law and custom, that permits us to live together for mutual benefit. Civilization is the thin veneer on a very cruel & brutish creature - humans. Given any excuse to set aside and ignore those rules of behavior, most people become dangerous animals. A few have strong underlying principles that keep them civilized even when it's not required. This excellent video exemplifies how thin the veneer is; everyone should watch it as a start towards building moral character. Thank you for posting it.
