LINK Flag of Mississippi: Commission narrows choice down to two flags
Can we guess which new State flag Mississippi will choose? I think it is obvious they will go for the one with the biggest text for "In God We Trust".
I wonder how it is even legal to put that on a State flag, but others have just pointed to court decisions that said it was okay on a coin because it doesn't force anyone to do anything. I bet the same people would be really unhappy if a State put "In Satan we trust" or "By evolution we evolve"...

So the contest givers are rigging the selection?
'The Magnolia State' got more magnolia design entries than someone was comfortable with so they decided to fix(pun intended) it by forcing the outcome. What a crock.
RichCC Edit: Even if they're worried about splitting the vote, they could fix it fairly -- say with multiple ballots or weighted-choice voting.

It was rigged from the minute the government there insisted the replacement had to include "In God We Trust". I wish the ACLU had stepped in and forced them to make it "In ____ We Trust" so everyone could insert their deity, deities, or non-deity emotional support entity of choice. Because let's face it, "god" is the number one American emotional support animal of choice.
