LINK Supreme Court: Amy Coney Barrett’s legitimacy crisis, in just 2 numbers - Vox

Even if Joe wins the election our nation became a Theocracy today. It's law that matters, even a bought and paid for law, so that's what prevails. Should 45 win they won't have to justify what they do. They will be told to have at us and they will. If 45 loses then maybe Democrats will come up with a solution but I don't see Joe adding Justices. Kamala says she will but doing that turns SCOTUS into a football team playing for their owner so it's not a sustainable solution and she might be talked out of it. Democrats are like that. The good news is that being sustainable won't matter or be desirable in the very near future.

Turn out the lights, will ya?

Keep in mind that the standard for impeachment is lack of “good behavior “. Is perjury during your hearing bad behavior? It may hinge on just how big the dem win in the senate turns out to be.

Dems won't return to that question (and likely to leave criminal proceedings for Тяцмр to NY) because we have more vital things for our attention. Boston sang what should be our national anthem, Don't Look Back. History is a nice reminder but every moment is unique so looking forward is the right orientation.

@rainmanjr you are probably right. OTOH it will probably be easier to shrink the court to 7 or even to 5 justices, dropping the newest.

@Detritus I'm inclined to think that's far more likely. The gop half is pretty old so maybe we get to replace them soon and less means the gop can't scream about unfairness.
