Do you distinguish between democratic socialism, progressivism and liberalism?

I do not understand these three political ideologies to be synonymous but some people do. We could all probably strengthen our understanding of this issue and each other if we discussed it. Would you please share your understanding of these terms, synonymous or otherwise?

Democratic socialism: Democratic just means democratic as opposed to authoritarian. Socialism is the middle ground between capitalism and socialism, a safety net for the most vulnerable in society ie health care/ education. National Parks are a socialist idea; for the common good.

Progressivism: The opposite to conservative which wishes to maintains the status quo. A progressive seeks to change things.

Liberalism: More into individual freedoms are paramount ie why should I wear clothes if I don't want to?

Yes, that is helpful, thank you.

@LovinLarge just noticed a mistake; socialism is middle ground between capitalism and communism, not socialism.
